Dr. Abdul Ihdayhid MBBS (Hons) PhD (Cand.) FRACP
Dr Abdul Rahman Ihdayhid completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Western Australia in 2008 and graduated with honours and the AMA Gold Medal (Dux of Medical School). He subsequently went on to complete his physician training in cardiology at the Royal Perth and Fiona Stanley Hospitals in Western Australia. Dr Ihdayhid is currently completing an academic and clinical fellowship in interventional cardiology at MonashHeart.
Dr Ihdayhid’s PhD through Monash University is investigating novel techniques to determine coronary blood flow utilising cardiac CT in an effort to improve the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease. His research has been recognised both nationally and internationally and Dr Ihdayhid has won several prestigious scientific awards including the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography Young Investigator Award and the 2017 Ralph Reader Prize, the highest accolade for emerging cardiovascular researchers in Australia and New Zealand. Dr. Ihdayhid’s research has been further acknowledged by being awarded prestigious research scholarships from the National Health and Medical Research Council and National Heart Foundation.
